Rebound Republic — With Art

In everyone childhood we build a sand house in beach it may be tiny in size but huge in happiness, after so long time the same amount of happiness I felt when my hands get dirty with team Madrasters on Saturday, January 20 at Thiruvanmiyur beach for Sand Beat (Sand Art) activity. This is my second volunteering in Sand Beat and the earlier experiences helped a lot in improving our skill in many areas. The first one was in April 2017 on International World Design Day at the same location. We are more excited because we were unaware that what style of typo going to place this time…

There is a proven statistic says, 60% of the engineers turned in to design career, yes, I agreed on the early morning we were wrapping up domestic civil tools to the battle area. Huge enthusiast boys and girls are gathered before the sunrise, a breeze air, and chilled seashore. Yes, we are the designer and we know to emerge our skill under pressure.

Current scenario TN youngster can’t gather any of our beaches in Chennai. TN Youngster and beach has such huge impact in the city. Safely we were in a White t-shirt and spreading the peace around. Our captain Jack quickly gave the heads-up about the role of each volunteer and the whole team. We walked into beach bit along searching for a perfect place to start with. We need a good place a close to seawater which helps to get water and the same time the waves shouldn’t destroy our work.

After 500 meters of the walk, we found a place to kick start. None other The Art Leader Artist six leading us toward the goal. We split into three teams one for helping us to prepare the canvas, second is art team same as battalions, the third team involved recording and spreading the activity. Closely an hour went easily to wet the sand, we are hitting strong on the sand to compress it, swapping the team and helping each other. Finally, 15x10 feet canvas was set by 1000 litres of seawater, 10,000 punches on the sand, oops it was like a commando training.

The beach joggers were so curious about our activity and they build their own assumptions. Few are making fun of us, few of them taking pictures of us and uploading in their social media page. We are protecting our canvas from the dogs, they are DON on the beach yes few are running like crazy and we scared that they screwed up the canvas. Six started his first stroke of the typo “Happy Republic Day” in a Medieval Gothic style with a minimal curves perfect typo for the pertain theme. Slowly the sun was coming out to look at our creative stuff which is off a piece of presentation.

The canvas was completely handover to the team for carving part. Each individual picked-up their own portion. Carving is a not such easiest part in the hole activity, we have to be completely aware while walking around, we shouldn’t give pressure on the sand else it leaves our own feet impression on it and we shouldn’t break the typo and consistently we need to maintain the depth also. The whole thing needs our focus and concertation.

Time to complete the presentation and give our own twist in the artwork. In the final stage, we filled the carved area with color powder of Saffron, White, and Green which took the whole thing to next level, kudos to the mastermind behind it. it was not a yet another usual morning it gave new energy and learning experience Yes its absolutely a patriotic feel of republic India, Beyond religion, language and gender barrier we joined as a Design community and expressed our love and respect to our nation!
